Procurement software compared: procuris vs DTAD, Vergabe24, Patterno, BidFix, Forgent AI

All information is based on the public vendor websites on the date stated. Features, prices and coverage change frequently. We review this page quarterly: let us know at hello@procuris.eu if you spot a deviation.

Who is being compared?

The German procurement-software market has two schools. The established aggregators (DTAD since 2000, Vergabe24 for over 20 years) have built data depth, editorial teams and sales relationships. The new wave of AI-native platforms (Patterno, BidFix, Forgent AI and procuris) shortens the path from public notice to processed bid through automation.

This page pits five prominent vendors against procuris and describes who each tool fits. The selection is based on market relevance in DACH and a visible position in the AI shift. Subreport, Mercell, Tendit and other specialists will follow on a second comparison page.

Bottom line: DTAD has the broadest data base and the only systematic monitoring of expiring framework contracts in this list. Anyone who wants to position sales toward a buyer ahead of the next tender has an advantage there. procuris, BidFix and Patterno also aggregate from many sources but focus more on semantic findability than on pre-tender intelligence.

Bottom line: Full AI automation ("drop the tender in, get the draft bid out") is the speciality of Forgent AI and BidFix. Patterno positions itself with "qualified AI search" as the most compute-intensive filter. procuris applies AI primarily at the search, filter and market-understanding layer and leaves the final bid drafting to a human, supported by a Concept Editor and the referenced knowledge base.

Bottom line: procuris has the only bid-management CRM in this list that is fully available in the free tier (as of May 2026). DTAD pursues a CRM approach but focuses on sales monitoring rather than concept and reference management. BidFix has a strong knowledge base and an AI Copilot for document editing, but only in the full version.

When does each vendor fit?

procuris is the right tool when …

procuris is the right tool when you want a modern AI search that understands every relevant procurement portal and gives you content matches rather than keyword hits. You also want a bid-management layer that goes beyond opportunity discovery: profiles, references, contacts and concept blocks in one place. You want to start permanently free and only pay when your team grows or you need the full feature set. Market data and an archive going back to 2022 should be available without surcharge.

DTAD is the right tool when …

DTAD is the right tool when you prize maximum data depth and want to play the pre-tender game. Expiring framework contracts, planned construction projects in early stages, competitor monitoring and an editorial team that secures data quality: that is DTAD's strength. If your team has already aligned its sales processes on public buyers and needs an established tool with years of onboarding service, DTAD is the safe choice.

Vergabe24 is the right tool when …

Vergabe24 is the right tool when you want a low-cost, transparently priced solution and do not need AI features. If keyword search is enough, you appreciate regional tariffs (Europe from €19/month) and you want the tool primarily as an email-alert service, Vergabe24 is the classic choice. Particularly relevant for companies addressing many local buyers in Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate or Saarland, since Vergabe24 is the Staatsanzeiger procurement platform in those regions.

Patterno is the right tool when …

Patterno is the right tool when you want the most compute-intensive AI filter and are willing to pay an enterprise price for it. Patterno scores each tender individually with an AI model against your company profile. According to their own statement this produces fewer false positives than purely vector-based semantic search, but at significantly higher compute and price. For teams with high tender volume where each false hit costs an hour of reading, it can pay off.

BidFix.ai is the right tool when …

BidFix is the right tool when you want end-to-end automation and spend a lot of time on responses. BidFix's strength is the AI Copilot in Excel, Word and PDF, which auto-fills Q&A questions and pulls pricing from the knowledge base. Anyone who regularly fills out procurement questionnaires and security questionnaires saves measurable time there. The free tier with semantic AI search is a good entry point; the power sits in the full version.

Forgent AI is the right tool when …

Forgent AI is the right tool when you bet on agentic AI and are willing to co-shape a young product. Forgent AI was founded in Berlin in 2025, raised a strong pre-seed round and the founding team has backgrounds at OpenAI, Anthropic and DeepMind. The ambition: automate 80% of manual bid work. As of today Forgent is more a platform to watch than to run daily operations on if you need stability and a large customer base. For early adopters with an appetite for agentic AI an exciting bet.
